 choosing what to buy hmmm
gifts for Vietnam trip
Challenges we faced:
It was hard trying to find a time and place to meet up altogether due to our scheldues and deciding where to buy the gifts was difficult.Small Arguments happened here any there on what to buy for gifts

How did we overcome them:
Using Whatsapp, we discussed among ourselves to find a suitable and affordable place to buy gifts as well as finding a good timing where all of us were free to buy the gifts together

Shopping for Vietnam Trip :)

Day 1

We visited Minh Long Ceramics and learnt how pottery was being made from scratch. some of the processes are , De-airing, shaping, glazing, half-baking, all the way to decoration, which is where the final product will surface.

We also got the opportunity to decorate some of our very own the clay made plates with watercolour paint. it was a very fun experience as we were able to show our artistic selves through this activity, and we also got to feel how much effort and time that the artists spent on painting these clay made products that were almost taken for granted every time.

After painting, we proceeded to buy some little souvenirs which were handmade and painted by the artists there!!!

Day 2

We boarded the boat which led us to the Mekong Delta Rice Paper factory, where we got to experience how the rice paper was made.

Next, we proceeded to the Coconut Candy Factory & crispy rice cake factories. We sampled coconut and it tasted really nice. and it was good for souvenirs. It was very hot there while watching the person make the rice cakes and the coconut candies. The process was asinating and interesting as the person made it.

Afterwards, we proceeded to the mudfish catching activity, where we went into a small mud pond and learnt how to catch mudfish with our bare hands. It was a great experience for those who tried it.

Lastly we went to the floating market. Regardless of the slight drizzle , it was a fun and memorable experience. Here is a video to show our experience to you.
We went to the night market as a treat rom our teachers and we bought matching shirts !!!

          Day 3

Firstly , we went into the Cu Chi tunnel. It was a first for most of us. The tunnels were suoer cramped and narrow, we had to croutch walk like a duck inside the tunnels in order to crawl through it. We saw the water well which was really really deep and spooky.

Secondly, we went to the Thien Duyen Orphanage. We donated some diapers and milk to them.
They also gave us a handmade dragonfly keychain which we really liked and appreciated. We felt disheartened and we learnt to cherish what we have and not complain about what we do not have and want. There is no photo of the orphanage

Last but not least , we headed to the War Remnant Museum. It was a really meaningful experience.

Day 4

Firstly we went to Hong Ha Secondary School for an exchange program. It was really fun getting to know them and the differences between our cultures

We had a fun experience playing games with the local Vietnam students. We played games such as Chapteh, Zero Point, Kuti Kuti, Pick Up Sticks and Five Stones. The games were engaging and allowed us to interact with the local students there :)

We had an English lesson there and learnt about the FAMILY TREE!!!!! We also learnt how to spell father and mom/mum accurately.
Darius is so popular !?!?!?!?!

We went to the Nam Son Coffee Workshop and tasted freshly grounded coffee. The coffee tasted heavenly, like something we never tasted before :o
